Sidney is a speech-language pathologist who provides speech therapy at Kalamazoo Speech Associates.  Sidney received her B.S. from Southern Illinois University and her M.A. from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.  She holds her certificate of clinical competence through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is also licensed in the state of Michigan. Sidney has four years of experience working with a variety of disabilities and abilities within the pediatric population in inpatient, outpatient, and school settings. Sidney has an interest in augmentative alternative communication (AAC) and has been trained in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). In addition, Sidney has experience working with childhood Apraxia of Speech, Autism Spectrum Disorders, language delays and disorders, speech sound disorders, and pragmatic/social communication disorders. Sidney loves to collaborate with a child’s family to ensure carry-over and success in the home environment. Sidney believes in having a flexible approach to therapy sessions, focusing on play-based therapy or child-led therapy activities when needed. Outside of work, Sidney enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.
